Snare

Description: Snares are sea demons, generally living far underneath the waters. Many fishers have issues with Snare's eating their bait or even dragging entire fishing rods down under the water- and on the rare occasion the demon manages to drag people into the water or even flip boats. Snare's are known to be territorial and generally will kill anything that manages to be on the wrong part of the ocean. While it's uncommon for Snares to stay out near the surface of the water for too long they do enjoy going on land due to their curious natures, wanting to find new area's to possibly take over. Most the time Snares will avoid towns and villages but sometimes a stray will venture too close and cause a commotion due to their unique ability that can take ages to truly 'clear out'. The demon is highly intelligent, which causes an issue when near towns since they're well known to find ways to break inside homes to steal food or interesting shiny objects. 

In combat a Snare is a dominating beast, using their whole body to take down enemies or prey. Outside of battle or in a situation where they need to flee the Snare also has their ability to create bubbles- outside and inside water, that is filled with a small flame that when introduced to air or water through popping, explodes outwards in a small to medium sized waterproof fire bomb which is useful for setting traps for prey, firing at enemies at short range, or creating a more difficult path behind them so enemies cant follow them. These fire bombs will stay armed for 12 hours to allow them to set them as traps, however they need a physical touch or enough force hitting them to go off and explode- they wont explode on their own- these bubbles also when 'fired' dont go far before their forward momentum slows and eventually stops. They can stick to surfaces and stay where they're placed and will not go off if they touch a surface- unless the bubble was fired at it at a fast enough speed. A Snare cannot set off an infinite amount however, so once four bombs are 'set' in the world they cannot create anymore until the others are exploded or the snare unsummons them due to the magic inside the bubbles still being siphoned away from the demon. Once the 12 hours is up the bubble just dissipates without going off, and after the initial explosion any fire left because of the explosion turns into regular fire and not the waterproof variant that is only around for a few seconds after the explosion. While the initial pain of the fire bomb is enough to daze or knock most smaller prey unconscious, the injuries sustained from the attack are generally moderate to minor for humans or larger demons and is more a secondary attack or hunting tactic. Snares can create "dummy" bubbles, which it holds no use other than a scare tactic to try to make enemies become unsure which ones hold the fire bombs and which ones are regular bubbles, or the dummies are used just for play. 

If a tamer manages to get a snare on their side the demon is rather useful, the fins on the back of the demon can flatten down and this demon can be used as a mount, however the best use out of the demon is as a guard or hunting partner, Snare's are fiercely loyal and can generally become posessive of their owners. They come mostly in blues and purples but always have a darker theme to them due to their living area, but all glow in a variety of color due to bioluminosity. All snares tend to have colored breath which is also their flame color- and this 'breath' can be a variety of colors, and can also be mistaken for fire. They're generally meat eaters, but can be classified as omnivores and can live on a balanced diet of vegetables and meats comfortably.
